I still can't believe our little peanut is three months old! Time seriously is flying by. I wish she could stay tiny forever, but it's been so fun seeing her grow. She's babbling and laughing now, loves to stand (supported, of course) and I swear she's going to skip right over crawling and walking and just start running any day now! With so many baby products out there it's hard to figure out where to start. These are some of our favorites from the first three months.
SwaddleMe Vlecro Swaddle - These have been amazing. Zoey cannot stay asleep unless she is swaddled and ever since we brought her home from the hospital we've double swaddled her. The Aden & Anais swaddles were working for a while, but Zoey always worked her way out of them. Not only did wake her up, but it scared me to death thinking the swaddle might end up over her face. These velcro swaddles keep her arms in nice and snug an on the rare occasion that she can work her way out of it, the velcro keeps it around her body and away from her face.
Johnson & Johnson Baby Bedtime Lotion & Body Wash - We just LOVE the smell of this
lotion and
body wash. We use it for every bath, morning or night. It really does keep her calm during and after bathtime.
The Honest Company* Organic Healing Balm and Organic Body Oil - I cannot praise Honest products enough. We use almost everything from their diapers to their air freshener. Zoey got some pretty bad baby acne in her first month that left the skin on her face dry and red and the Organic Healing Balm cleared it up just a few days after we started using it. Any time her skin looks red or chapped we use it and it works wonders. The body oil has been a Godsend for her mild cradle cap. We rub it on with a cotton ball and then brush away the dry skin, it's also great for dry cuticles! :)
Boon Grass Drying Rack - I love this for drying all my pump parts. Everything stays in place and there is plenty of room for everything. Plus it's super cute which is great since it isn't practical to put it away after each use!
Como Tomo Bottles - Breastfeeding did not come naturally to us, when Zoey was a few days old we had to introduce the bottle because she couldn't maintain a good latch. I was so nervous she would not want to nurse after feeding from a bottle but we didn't have much choice since she wasn't eating at all. I had heard of nipple confusion before she was born, so I researched the best bottles for breastfed babies. I ultimately landed on these after reading the great reviews. They have worked out great. I opted for the 8oz. bottle from the start, even though she still only has around 5oz per feeding when she has a bottle. They are a little pricey so it seemed more practical. I just had to order the slow flow nipples since the 8oz. bottles come with medium flow.
4moms Infant Tub, MamaRoo & RockaRoo - Another company I can't say enough good things about! Their products are amazing. The MamaRoo was a lifesaver when we first brought Zoey home. She spent most of the day in it and it was the only thing that kept her calm. You can control it from your phone via Bluetooth which was amazing after my c-section. I could change the motion or noise from the couch if she got fussy. When she was about a month old we got the RockaRoo. At first I didn't think it was necessary to have both but now I'm so glad we do. Whichever motion she is feeling that day, we are set. When she doesn't sleep well in her crib, the RockaRoo can pretty much always guarantee us a solid 5-7 hours through the night. The Infant Tub is another must have. The built in thermometer takes the guess work out of bath time and we always know that the water is the right temperature. It flows the dirty water out as the clean water comes in, which is awesome.
Burpers - These always come in handy when baby spits up and especially now that she is drooling like crazy. I'm not a fan of using receiving blankets, cloth diapers bigger burpers. I feel like they get wet and stinky quickly but think it's a waste to wash them after only using them a few times.
These are super soft and absorbent plus they aren't really big, I use them once or twice then toss them in the wash. They're small enough to throw a few in the diaper bag plus they're super cute!
Sophie the Giraffe - We've been using the softer, stuffed Sophie up until this point. It's fun to see Zoey start holding on to it or chewing on her ears. I think she's starting to get comforted by it as well. Once she's a little bigger we'll transition to the rubber teether.
Solly Baby Wrap - Another must have. I got the Moby wrap as a shower gift and Zoey really liked being in it, but it was so thick and heavy that we both got really hot when she was in it. It was super bulky and hard to take with us when we went out. I also felt like it came loose very quickly, so I bought the Solly and LOVE it. It is so light weight, soft and comfortable. It comes in tons of colors and rolls up into a tight ball and tucks into itself. I love that I can throw it in the diaper bag and go. It's perfect for when Zoey just wants to be held but I still have things to do.
